This is a slick lesson about George Washington suitable for kindergarten or first grade. This teacher designed page provides a power point presentation which has audio, visual, and textual components. Outstanding. One slide----location in the United States---would have to be changed for Don Callejon’s location. This would be easy to do since the power point presentation can be saved to a local hard disc and changed to make it appropriate to our site. |

The Right Stuff What Qualified George Washington to be President |
This is a great activity for grades 5-8. It supports standards in all those grades. Brainstorm what characteristics a person needs to be president, read a short biography of George Washington and decide which of those characteristics he possessed. Go on to compare and contrast the changing needs of the presidency between George’s time and now. One could also use one of the biographies of Abraham Lincoln to include him in this project. |
