Works Cited

Directions

 

Step 1

Go to the Library Web Page   HTTP://library.doncallejon.org

Step 2

Click on Citation Maker.

Step 3

Click on Citation Maker under the subtitle “Citing Sources (High School and Middle School Students)”

Step 4

Mark the appropriate type of source on the left side of the page. The list of information needed will automatically change with the type of source.

Step 5

Type in the requested information.

Step 6

Save the Citation.

Step 7

Repeat steps 4, 5, and 6 for each of your citations.

Step 8

When completed, click on Show My Citations.

All of your citations should appear on the screen

Step 9

Highlight and copy all of the citations. Go to the edit menu. Choose copy.

Step 10

Open a word document.  From the edit menu, select paste special.  Select “Formatted Text (RTF)”. Click “OK”.

Step 11

Put the title “Works Cited” on you word document.

Step 12

Alphabetize your sources by the first letter of each entry.

Step 13

Highlight the citations.

·                  Go to the Format menu

·                  Choose Paragraph

·                  Click on Hanging under the Special pull down Menu.

·                  Click ok.

This will indent the second line of all selected citations.

Step 14

Highlight everything on the page.

·                  Go to the Format menu.

·                  Choose Paragraph

·                  On the “Line Spacing” pull down menu, click on “Double” spacing.

This will double-space your citations.

Step 15

Print your page. You are done. Congratulations.
